Musée McCord – The History of Fashion #MFW

Dans le cadre de la semaine de la mode de Montréal, le Musée McCord propose deux activités gratuites dédiées à l’histoire de la mode.

In order to celebrate the Montreal Fashion Week, McCord Museum offers two free activities dedicated to the fashion history.

Bill Cunningham New York (2010) de/by Richard Press (English, 84 min)

The “Bill” in question is New York Times octogenarian photographer Bill Cunningham. For decades, this bicycling cultural anthropologist has been obsessievly and inventively chronicling fashion trends and high society charity soirés for the Times style section in his columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours”. Documenting uptown fixtures (Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor, David Rockfeller), downtown eccentrics and everyone in between.

À la fois chroniqueur mondain et capteur de tendances, le photographe octagénaire Bill Cunningham alimente deux rubriques du prestigieux New York Times depuis trois décennies. Ponctué de témoignages de personnalités excentriques qu’il a croqués sur le vif ( Anna Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor, David Rockfeller), ce documentaire capte en plein mouvement le vestige d’un monde en voie d’extinction pour souligner son engagement sincère pour l’art et le style.
