The Hamilton Beach Stack & Snap Food Processor
Right on time for the Holiday season, Hamilton Beach comes up with the Stack & Snap Food Processor. Whether you are vegan or not, a food processor is a tool to have in your kitchen to prepare everything from salsas to nut butter.
When I was invited to the Hamilton Beach Fall preview event in Montreal Old Port a few weeks ago, the Stack & Snap Food Processor caught my eyes. I recently received the machine at home and I’ve tried it on several recipes. Read on to find out how the Stack & Snap Food Processor could help you cook savory dishes.
The Hamilton Stack & Snap is a user-friendly food processor, which is fast, simple and quiet to use. Contrary to other leading competitors, the Hamilton Beach Stack is designed in a simple way: there’s no twisting, turning or locking required when assembling it. All you have to do is to stack the BPA-free bowl onto the base, then place the lid and secure it with the metal locking arm.
Thanks to the large chute, you can put big pieces of food, like a couple of carrots and shred them all together for salads. Moreover, the built-in bowl scraper saves time by eliminating the need to stop and scrape the bowl during processing.
In addition, you do not have to worry when processing liquids, like soups and vinaigrettes, because the bowl’s motor hub is sealed and the lid is lined with silicone to prevent leaking. When you are done, you can place all attachments in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. A convenient case is also included to keep attachments organized and safe.
What I really like about the Hamilton Beach Stack & Snap is its versatility! Choose from shredding food finely or coarsely with the reversible shredding disc. With the adjustable slicing, you can slice six ways in varying thicknesses. Use the S-blade for pureeing and chopping and a dough blade for kneading the dough. It can even make creamy cashew cheese in less than three minutes.
If you are not sure about which blade to use and which button to press for the results you want, simply report to the function guide. It includes tips and technique to make sure you use the Hamilton Beach Stack & Snap at its full potential. For best results, there is a processing chart at the end of the guide indicating the amounts you should not exceed when chopping, mincing or pureeing with the chopping/mixing blade.
Let me share with you this delicious falafel recipe that I made with the Hamilton Beach Stack & Snap. The recipe is from a food counter I visited with my sister during our stay in Lebanon early this year. Here is what you need and how to process:
Ingredients
- 250 g dry chickpeas soaked the day before (24h)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- ¼ onions
- ½ tsp. bicarbonate
- ½ tbsp. of golden sesame seeds
- ½ bunch of parsley
- ½ bunch of cilantro
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. paprika
- pepper and salt
Steps
- Drain the chickpeas and wipe them thoroughly in a clean cloth or paper towel. The chickpeas really have to be dry.
- Place bowl on base with the handle facing to the right. Carefully place chopping/mixing blade down onto the motor shaft.
- Pour the chickpeas into the bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Place lid on the bowl, raise locking arm up and over and snap in place.
- Select Low (LO) speed by moving left switch down. Press switch down to PULSE for instant on and off control. When the mixture starts to look like a puree, select High (HI) speed until the mix looks homogenous.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl.
- Heat oil in a frying pan on low heat or use a fryer.
- Form falafel balls and dive falafel balls in hot oil one by one.
- When the falafel balls turn brown, remove them from the frying pan and drop them on paper towels. Enjoy!
